Star Trek Chapter 02

Three weeks later, Jim Kirk was sitting in a bar on Ieta Cassiopelae 4 slowly nursing a tumbler of a Cardassian brew he couldn't pronounce. Across the table from him were two Cassiopelaen bar butterflies. Their pointy faces and large eyes, combined with a round mouth, gave them a distinctly fish like appearance but still, Kirk was getting just enough of a buzz on to wonder what those round lips would feel like around his dick. He was usually pretty conservative about fucking alien species. (His self-preservation instinct caused him to think twice before going where no (hu)man had gone before, he left that up to younger, more foolish guys.) Besides, he had a fleet to run and it would hurt discipline if the Admiral came off liberty injured or with some strange disease.

Kirk was laughing at his own wit as he leaned forward to refill one of the "females" cups when his Blackberry Intergalactic vibrated against his ass. The display read "Enterprise OOD."

"Kirk here."

"Admiral, we have a coded intel message from Thata Eridni," the Petty Officer of the Watch said. "I have orders to inform you of any communications from there."

"Thank you very much Petty Officer Sada," Kirk said. "If you would, try to find Captain Spock and tell him to meet me in Flag Quarters in twenty minutes."

"He's not on board sir," came the reply.

"Well then, give him a call and tell him thirty," Kirk said a little testily. "I'm on my way back."

"Well girls, I'm afraid duty calls," he said.

The two fish-eyed creatures made squeaking and burping noises that his translator converted and whispered disappointments in his ear. Twenty minutes later the local transport facility synced with Enterprise's and Kirk appeared in the transporter room.

"News about our friend, Mr. Cooper," Kirk said as Spock fell in next to him in the passageway.

"I surmised as much, Admiral," Spock replied.

The message was a simple text from a Federation Intel operative on Seti ......

"The ship Cooper's Revenge has requested clearance to leave but has not filed a flight plan. The shipyard techs tell me that they did extensive repairs to the deflector array. He should have clearance tomorrow. The ship's Master has made a routine inquiry at the local Shipping Co Op offices for a cargo."

"Nothing more?" Spock asked.

"No, that's it," replied Kirk. "Hopefully the tracking device we put in there will work."

"As soon as his NAV systems are active they will report Cooper's position," Spock replied. "It will send a position report every day and, we can track the cloaking device in real time within 1000 a.u."

"OK, now we just wait for him to activate the cloak, then we'll spring the trap." Kirk paused. "I still question using Petty Officer Cooper in this way. He was not a stellar performer on Enterprise," Kirk said.

"That's actually part of the reason Jim."

"Why? He hates my guts. He won't want to do me any favors." Kirk paused. "Actually, we're a lot alike, except that he didn't understand his position. That's why I kicked him off the ship-bad for discipline."

"I believe that, if he can be persuaded, he will be adequate for the job," Spoke said.

"Still, should the Cardassian's capture him."

"They'll have a cashiered Star Fleet enlisted man trying to smuggle goods. Star Fleet can reasonably deny any involvement-after all, we kicked him out-and the Cardassian's can do what they like."

"But, what will they do with his 'crew'?" Kirk pondered.

"The same thing they'd do if they discovered her tomorrow- use her as a political hostage. Maybe, in a week or two, she'll be safe and so will Star Fleet-and I'll be at ease." Spock looked at Kirk, his jaw set.

"Spock, I know this is a lot more than a political game to you-if she was mine, I'd start a fucking war...and you know I could do it."

Spock's expression softened. "Thank you Jim," he said, "I hope that will not be necessary."
